Netflix is reportedly in talks to produce a documentary on the late U.S rapper, Nipsey Hussle.
According to reports, the streaming service is currently set to win the rights to the film which is due to be directed and produced by Ava DuVernay, who is behind the making of hit Netflix series When They See Us and the docuseries, 13th.
DuVernay’s production company ARRAY will co-produce the film alongside Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon Films.
Marathon Films took to Instagram to announce news of the documentary, writing: “Nipsey’s company Marathon Films, will present his feature film documentary executive produced by RocNation and his two children Emani and Kross Asghedom.
The statement also adds: “We are currently in negotiations with Netflix for this project with Ava DuVernary, and her company ARRAY to co-produce”.
News of the Nipsey Hussle documentary comes just under a year after the fatal shooting of the rapper in Los Angeles which sent shock waves throughout the entire entertainment industry.
Nipsey recently received a Grammy for his single “Racks In The Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy.
