This week’s New Music Friday UK playlist on spotify is filled with bangers. Bonkaz and S Loud, Tinashe, Mike-WiLL Made-It and Big Sean, Frank Ocean, Rick Ross and Yo Gotti, G-Eazy and Kehlani and Angel all made the cut.

Bonkaz – Cash Money (ft. S Loud)

“Cash Money” is leading the line from Quality Control 2.0, Bonkaz’s latest project release. The highly anticipated new full-length. This trap-themed tune sees Bonkaz play to trends in the hook but completely body the verses. Bar for bar, this track is crazy. One of the MC’s hardest tracks in a while.

Tinashe – Flame

Tinashe’s new cut is a soulful banger with a sound reminiscent of the early 2000s; a real throwback tune. The summer-sounding hook is uplifting and catchy, whilst the verses are genuinely written. This is a new direction for Tinashe, and it suits her brilliantly.

Mike WiLL Made-It – Come Up (ft. Big Sean)

Mike-WiLL Made-It enlists I Decided MC Big Sean for his newest single from his recently announced forthcoming album, Ransom 2. “Come Up” is a booming trap record with some nasty 808 sounds that contrast the orchestral vocal sample that rides the ballistic percussion and Big Sean’s crazy confident lyrics. The Detroit native goes hard on “Come Up” and it’s clear he’s got a point to prove after recently revealing he’s looking to be recognised as the best rapper alive.

Frank Ocean – Chanel

Firstly, let’s all rejoice in the fact that Frank is back…again. “Chanel” is a dope cut with a more rap-oriented style of delivery from the Blonde singer. The beat on this track is soothing and sits perfectly under Frank’s awesome vocal. The flows on this are just…ugh. How is he so good?

Rick Ross – Summer Seventeen (ft. Yo Gotti)

Hard. This. Is. Hard. I love it when Rozay just picks up the pen and shells. “Summer Seventeen” is a banger; classic Rick Ross. This is the stuff Rick Ross got huge off. Yo Gotti doesn’t hold back here, either. This track definitely stands out as a top-pick from this week’s playlist.

G-Eazy & Kehlani – Good Life

This pop cut is from the Fast & Furious 8 soundtrack. G-Eazy is just stuntin’ in the verses, whilst Kehlani carries the uplifting chorus. It reminds me of that old K’naan tune “Wavin’ Flag”. I can picture this track being played on the credits of the film. Decent tune!

Angel – Hi Grade

“Hi Grade” is a vibey new tune from Island artist Angel. The track title is very, very appropriate. It’s the type of song you’d bang on when you’re just chilling. The London-based singer has been in good form recently, and “Hi Grade” is just another part of that.
