He’s been making waves in the footballing world for years with his skills but Neymar Jr is set to take on a new role in Netflix’s popular Money Heist series.
The footballer took to Twitter to announce his forthcoming appearance in the series.
“I was able to realise my dream and be part of my favourite series. And now I can share Joao with you all! Thank you”, Neymar Jr tweeted.
The 27-year-old plays a monk named Joao in episodes six and eight of the series which is centred around pulling off a massive heist in history.
Neymar Jr recorded his scenes for two episodes of Money Heist last November but due to ongoing rape accusations against the rapper, his cameo was edited out of the show. Now that the Brazilian police have dropped their investigation into the accusations, Netflix have re-released the episodes so that Neymar’s character is included in the third series.
Money Heist is reported to have gained 34 million viewers in the week of its first release and now that Neymar Jr has joined the cast, views will only continue to rack up.
