Fresh after announcing her engagement, fans are speculating that rapper Nicki Minaj is pregnant.
The rumours follow several cryptic tweets from the artist and speculation over the choice of angling during an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
During Nicki’s appearance where she appeared to promote her latest dancehall inspired single “Megatron”, the artist wore loose-fitting clothing and declined all offers of alcohol during a segment where she visited the Red Lobster restaurant in New York along with Jimmy Fallon.
Nicki has not yet confirmed or denied the rumours and continues to post strategically angled pictures on Instagram.
Nicki Minaj has plans to release her fifth studio album this year as well as tour the US. In a 2014 interview, Nicki said, “If I’m done with my fifth album and I don’t have a child by then, no matter how much money I have, I would be disappointed, as a woman, because I feel like I was put here to be a mother”. This statement and the timing of her possible pregnancy coinciding with the release of her fifth album could then suggest that the speculation is true.
The pregnancy rumours follow Nicki’s announcement on Queen Radio last week where she told listeners that she has applied for and now received a marriage license.
The rapper also addressed her beef with Miley Cyrus. On Miley, Nicki said, “Perdue chickens can never talk shit about queens. She disrespected me in a magazine article for no reason. I had just seen her after she sucked Mike Will(Made-It)’s dick in the studio”.
