Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Notting Hill Carnival is going virtual this year and an afterparty for the event is also going online!
Nine Nights have teamed up with Lin Kam Art from NHC’s Disya Jeneration Sound System to present a digital afterparty named Dancehall Supremacy.
Set to be streamed online at www.ninenights.net from 21:00 BST August 30, Dancehall Supremacy will be a live broadcast from Somerset House supporting groundbreaking black talent such as Disya Jeneration, Flohio, Louis Culture and more.
Viewers will need to pay £5 per household to view the live stream, with donations going to #Justice4Grenfell.
The Nine Nights collective have said: “Cultural practices are demarcation of societal and political space. Considering how technological prowess engineering change in that space is pertinent towards combating today’s toxically pervasive anti-immigrant rhetoric.
“By building a newly networked system, we continue to celebrate the immigrant culture that emanates from it. We continue to create identity and nation without limit. We overcome.”
