Puma has announced that they will release several new Nipsey Hussle collaborations in the near future.
Adam Petrick, Puma’s Brand and Marketing Global Director, unveiled the plans during The Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything Festival. Adam said, “He (Nipsey) was somebody that was doing great stuff and he had this idea about how he could improve the community and how he could push for that. The concept of working with Nipsey just made sense”.
Adam then delved further into the sportswear brand’s plans with the artist before his untimely death. He said, “We had a lot of things that were coming, and hopefully a lot of things we will still do with his estate. We’ll work with his family and we’ll support his kids. We’re going to continue to release some product that we’ve created with him. We’ve also got some charity activations that we’ll do to support what he was doing in Crenshaw, and trying to continue the work that he was doing through his foundation”.
Nipsey would frequently post sponsored content for Puma to his Instagram and sold Puma apparel at his Los Angeles store, The Marathon Clothing.
Nipsey’s legacy continues to live on outside of music as well as within it. DJ Khaled recently released the visuals to “Higher” featuring John Legend and the late Nipsey Hussle which was filmed before he passed. Compton hailing rapper YG also recently announced that he will release his joint album with Nipsey Hussle soon; this comes after YG dedicated the last track on his recent album 4Real 4Real to the late rapper.
