Residents of Gospel Oak in north-west London find themselves living in fear as a crow launches a disturbing campaign of attacks against women in the area.
The aggressive bird has been repeatedly dive-bombing onto residents, causing panic and distress. Victims have shared their harrowing experiences, describing how the crow relentlessly swoops down, forcing them to flee while screaming in terror, with one woman reportedly even bleeding from an attack.
In response to the escalating situation, residents have resorted to carrying umbrellas as a defensive measure when walking down Mansfield Road.
Concerned individuals have reached out to Camden Council for assistance, only to be told that crows are not considered pests, leaving them feeling helpless.
Witnesses have reported as many as 20 attacks in a single day, leaving victims traumatised and fearful for their safety.
Although some individuals sympathetic to the crow’s behaviour argue that it is merely protecting its nest, this explanation fails to address the troubling pattern observed, as the bird seems to selectively target women with long hair.
Cengiz Taskin, a local resident, said, “One lady got attacked in the morning on her way to work and then she got attacked again when she was coming home. She came into the shop, she was so scared. One of them was bleeding from the attack.”
As the community grapples with this unusual menace, residents of Gospel Oak hope that appropriate measures will be taken to address the crow’s violent behaviour.
