Afroswing pioneer, singer and rapper Not3s has unveiled his latest project, the Son Of The Soil EP this week.
The inspiration for this EP came from a poignant trip to Lagos, Nigeria, where the East Londoner visited the grave of the legendary Fela Kuti. During this trip, he met Bankulli, another Nigerian artist who encouraged him to carry on the legacy of afrobeats as a “son of the soil”, which gave the project its title. The EP reflects his deeper connection with his Nigerian heritage, blending sounds from across Africa with his distinctive London style. Notable features on the project include Nigerian artists Odumodublvck and Mayorkun, along with London’s own Hamzaa, all contributing performances which enrich the EP’s musical landscape.
