Covid-19’s seemingly never-ending rampage officially ruined our summer holidays when we received the devastating news that Carnival 2020 had been cancelled. Undoubtedly the most distinguished celebration of black culture in Europe, Notting Hill Carnival will be dearly missed this summer.
This afternoon, Notting Hill Carnival’s executive director, Matthew Phillip spoke with the Voice Newspaper about just why the event couldn’t go ahead this year and the implications it may have had on the spread of Covid-19 if it did.
