Chase & Status have been dropping videos week after week as part of their ‘London Bars’ series, teaming up with the likes of Frisco [“Funny“], Giggs [“More Ratatatin“] and Bonkaz [“Wha Gwarn?“]. Today saw the final instalment of the series, with Chase & Status enlisting the help of Lewisham’s own Novelist for “Bigger Man Sound”. The thumping big-bass instrumental allows Novelist to let loose and spray bars as he does well. The track serves as a perfect end to the ‘London Bars’ series and has been a great collaborative project, with all the artists who have collaborated and the platforms that have been involved.
Set as a prelude to their anticipated fourth studio album, ‘London Bars’ hears Chase and Status continue to assist and support the UK scene, especially the grime movement that appears to be [rightfully] shaking items up across the globe. Releasing on their own label, MTA Records, for the very first time, it felt only right for the duo to partner such a pivotal underground release with their own independent set-up: “London Bars is a project we’re very passionate about. It showcases some of the most exciting MC’s to emerge out of the UK and was a real privilege to work with legends and rising stars alike”. With four chapters down and no confirmation on who is next to feature, it’s anyones guess who will be next to step up to the mic.
