London rapper and vocalist Octavian wins the coveted BBC Sound of 2019 poll.

After making big movements in the game for a couple of years now, earning a co-sign from none other than Drake, the French born Black Butter Records signee becomes the first rapper to claim top spot for a BBC Sound of poll since 50 Cent way back in 2003, with Octavian finishing first for the 2019 edition. Some familiar names Octavian pipped to the win include Ella Mai, Mahalia, and Slowthai, with Sam Smith and Adele two of the poll’s past winners.
