The nominations for this year’s Academy Awards have been revealed.
Unsurprisingly, based on the success of the movie so far, Joker leads the pack with an impressive 11 nominations. The comic book villain story is up for Best Picture and Best Director as Joaquin Phoenix is up for Best Actor.
Following closely behind, The Irishman, 1917 and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood received 10 nominations each. Other nominees include Marriage Story, Parasite, Little Women, Jojo Rabbit and Ford V Ferrari.
Harriet, a biopic of anti-slavery campaigner Harriet Tubman is also up for two awards as British Actress Cynthia Eviro sees her shortlisted for leading actress. With an Oscar nomination under her belt, the Brit could make Oscars 2020 history as the youngest EGOT winner ever.
