BBC 1Xtra’s MC Month has finally come to an end 🙁
However, it has given us some amazing covers over the past month and it’s only right we rounded up our favourites.
In no particular order..
1. P Money – “Forgot About Dre” (Dr. Dre cover)
P’s flip on this classic Dre beat was awesome and he definitely did it justice!
2. Stormzy – “Shut Up/Standard” Montage
The live version of “Shut Up” sounds even better in the Live Lounge with the live band and the mash up with Stormzy’s latest hit “Standard” is sick!
3. J Hus – “Breathe” (Blu Cantrell cover)
J Hus’s flow and tone breathed new life into this cover!
4. Bugzy Malone – “Changes” (Tupac cover)
Bugzy takes a different route and gives us a couple of insightful verses over ‘Pac’s hip-hop classic.
5. Nick Brewer – “One Mic/In The Air Tonight” (Nas/Phil Collins cover)
Nick Brewer’s creative mash up tells an great story and his flow is hard!
6. Safone – “Man From Brum”
This rock remix from Safone is, instrumentally, one of the best live lounges from this month.
7. Bonkaz – “You Don’t Know”
Bonkaz’s flow on this is dope, and the Dizzee samples never get old!
