The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) have released a list of new words which have been added to their catalogue and among them are some pretty common terms (and some not so popular words).
The updated list of words which have been added to the OED contains 203 new words such as “Chirpse”, “Jafaican” and “Sumfin”.
According to the OED, the definition of “Chirpse” is “to flirt with (a person); to make sexual advances towards”. Their definition of “Jafaican” reads “a non-Jamaican person who adopts or identifies with aspects of Jamaican culture, esp. in a way regarded as contrived or inauthentic. Usually…”.
Other new entries to the Oxford English Dictionary include “Chillax”, “Simples” and “Whatevs”.
