Coventry’s Pa Salieu has won BBC Music’s Sound Of 2021 poll, making him the UK artist tipped to have the most success this year.
The 23-year-old was able to win the poll by beating the likes of Holly Humberstone, Berwyn and Greentea Peng and Griff.
Speaking on his win, Pa said: “I was just really happy to even be included on the list alongside some amazing artists, a few of who I know personally. They’re all crazy talented, so to be the winner of something like this so early in my journey just feels mad.”
Pa’s win comes after a successful 2020 for the rapper who racked up millions of views on YouTube, and also released his debut project Send Them To Coventry.
The pollwas voted in by industry figures plus artists including Billie Eilish, Stormzy, Jorja Smith, Wolf Alice, AJ Tracey, Yungblud, Foals and Charli XCX.
Previous winners of BBC Music’s Sound Of… include mega stars Sam Smith and Adele.
