Peaky Blinders has been a hit with fans on the small screen and now a video game based on the series is on the way.

Titled Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, the game will be a prequel to the TV series and will allow players to join Tommy Shellby and his gang as they stop a plot to put them out of business.

An official description of the game on Steam reads: “Peaky Blinders: Mastermind lets you join the Shelby family’s criminal gang. Follow the rise of Tommy as he successfully uncovers a sinister plot to put the family out of business, proving himself worthy of being the true mastermind of the Peaky Blinders.”

During the game you’ll be able to play as Tommy, Arthur, Polly, John, Ada, and Finn from a top-down perspective, using each character’s unique abilities for certain missions.

The game director at FuturLab, James Marsden, said of the game: “There’s a point in the show where Tommy Shelby explains he has no concern for the past, nor the future; all he cares about is a crucial moment he calls the ‘soldier’s minute’.

“We designed our game around that idea, allowing the player to plan actions backward and forward in time, choreographing an ensemble cast of characters [Arthur and Polly included] to synchronise their actions during these crucial moments.”

The game will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC this summer.
