Steven Victor has teased the idea of a Pop Smoke x Dior fashion collab and fans are more than excited.
The late rapper’s manager sat down with Woman’s Wear Daily, Victor, spoke on the feelings attached to the posthumous collections, and what the team are planning to achieve in Pop Smokes honour in the coming future.
Victor recalled conversations he had with Pop Smoke about the idea of expanding into the world of fashion design.
Victor said, “I would take it in stride super early on and thought let’s focus on the music first and once you’re stable as an artist then let’s dabble”
“(Pop) would always talk about fashion. I thought he was just saying it because it was cool for rappers to say. Then over the months, I realized he did have his own sense of style.”
Pop Smokes influence in urban fashion is undeniable and with his hit “Dior” still being in heavy rotation a year on, it may now lead to a collaboration.
Victor added, “You can’t say that Pop didn’t have some sort of influence on Dior, especially in the urban community,”
“I’m going to see (Dior men’s artistic director Kim Jones) and talk to him about that on some level. Maybe next year for Pop’s birthday.”
With the main aim of Steven Victor and the rest of his management to preserve Pop smokes legacy, the team are said to be highly selective with the creative choices that they are making in Pops name.
