Pornhub has unveiled its annual year-in-review report, offering a detailed look at 2024’s viewing trends against the backdrop of mounting challenges to the adult industry.
The UK’s most searched terms on Pornhub remained consistent with last year, with “milf” holding the top spot, followed by “lesbian.” However, “british” climbed two places to take third, reflecting a growing interest in homegrown content. This rise pushed “indian” down to fourth, marking a significant shift in viewer preferences. Other notable risers included “anal” and “joi,” both up six places, while “latina” jumped an impressive seven spots.
Among the UK’s favorite performers, Elle Brooke claimed the top spot as the nation’s most-searched pornstar. Rising star Lily Phillips followed in second, showcasing growing local talent, while global sensation Lana Rhoades rounded out the top three.
Trending search terms revealed a surge in demand for distinctly British content, with “british blonde” searches skyrocketing by 476%, “british couple” up 410%, and “english milf” increasing by 356%. These trends highlight a notable shift toward celebrating British-themed adult entertainment in 2024.
In the US, divisive politics and new age-verification laws in states like Texas and Indiana have restricted access to Pornhub, reflected in this year’s search map, where banned states appear greyed out. Despite these obstacles, the US remained Pornhub’s largest traffic driver, dominating the top 20 countries, which collectively account for 79.2% of daily visitors. Mexico and the Netherlands slightly outpaced the US in average time spent per visit.
Globally, women now make up 38% of Pornhub viewers, with female users spending 17 seconds longer per session than men. In the Philippines, women continue to outnumber male viewers, while in the US, women account for 29% of the audience. Preferences among women skew toward scissoring, cunnilingus, and solo male content.
Trending searches this year included “demure” (+133%), “tradwife” (+72%), and “Mormon threesome” (+122%), reflecting shifting cultural fascinations. The Paris Olympics also fueled searches related to athletes and competitions. Hentai and anime content remained popular, with a 78% rise in searches for “realistic animated” videos.
Gen Z stood out for embracing vertical video formats, while boomers gravitated toward strap-on and gangbang content.
Overall, the average time spent on Pornhub dropped by 29 seconds this year, signalling changing habits in the digital age.
