Prince Harry has come out in defence of his stunning new girlfriend Meghan Markle, after revealing that the actress has been subjected to harassment and abuse following stories that linked the couple together.
The Suits actress, who has a black mother and white father, has had to deal with what Harry describes as “racist and sexist” social media trolls, and in an unprecedented statement from Kensington palace – who usually do not comment on relationship matters relating to The Royal Family – Harry who is fourth in line to the throne makes his feelings clear.
The statement reads, “Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.
“He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game, it is her life and his.”
In 2016 you would imagine a guy or girl should be allowed to date whoever they fall for. Bizarrely, it appears to some that when it comes to a Prince or Princess, this should be different.
