Source code found by Reddit users hints towards Playstation 5 users having access to 100 player parties, cross-gen features and more!
Found in the source code of the PlayStation website, Reddit and Resetera users found a handful of documents which made references to Cross-gen chat, a wishlist feature similar to steam for the PlayStation store and more.
Alongside this, the documents provided evidence of how backwards compatibility will operate on the PlayStation 5 – with multiple references to updates needed to run certain PS4 games, with one discovered source code reading “This PS4 game isn’t supported with your PS5’s current system software.”
“We’re continuing to make more PS4 games playable on PS5. Update your PS5, and then try playing the game.”
The information hints at the ability to set images for your party groups with the addition of video clips, albums, artists, playlists and songs.
With the PlayStation 5 still being around a month away from release on the November 19th, more information on the consoles operating system and various features are set to be announced.
