With the tournament due to kick off at the end of the month, and a reported three to four thousand England fans travelling to Qatar to watch the team; the rumoured drinks prices could deal a real blow to potential revellers.

Despite the fact that being drunk in public is technically illegal, it is unlikely to deter the notoriously thirsty England fans from their favourite pastime. Some are already reporting that local sports bars are charging fans up to £240 to watch the final and semi final games, included in the price is only three drink vouchers which can be redeemed for either wine or beer.

Fans hoping to circumvent these prices by bringing in their own drinks will get a rude awakening upon reaching the airport, as no alcohol can be brought into the country and anyone found to have any on them will have it confiscated. Drug laws are even stricter, and anyone caught smuggling cocaine into the country could even face the death penalty.
