The multi-talented Rapman has signed a brand-new deal with Netflix, it has been announced.

Rapman’s new deal with Netflix was confirmed when the streaming giant revealed its plans to increase the diversity of its programming by working with British filmmakers and writers to have their voices “amplified globally”.

The rapper, writer and director is due to create a science fiction film with Netflix, following up from his successful films Shiro’s Story and Blue Story.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Rapman wrote: “I can’t say too much now but believe me when I say the game is about to change.”

The likes of Akua Agyemfra and Bisha K Ali are also just some names involved with Netflix’s programmes to increase diversity.

Anne Mensah, Netflix’s vice-president of original series, said it was an “indication of how seriously” the streaming platform takes the UK.

She added: “It’s so important to work with brilliant British talent and I couldn’t be more excited about the people we’re working with. And it’s important to support the industry and, as far as we can, be a force for good.”
