The 20015 Forbes Hip Hop Cash Kings list is upon us. This years top earners in the industry held few surprises, and with $60 million Diddy holds the top spot with his Ciroc takings to thank, thus equaling what he made last year. Consistent.
Jay Z as ever in the fold made a tidy $56 million thanks to his tour with Beyonce, with Roc Nation also contributing to that nice sum.
Drake makes the top 3 with an astonishing $39.5 million. Most of that income came from tours and festivals, cementing the fact that live performances are more than ever the most profitable pillar of the music industry.
Dr Dre and Pharrell are also in the mix to round out the top 5, Dr Dre made $620 million in 2014 (how much?) having sold Beats to Apple for a sum we won’t even mention, and still made another $33 million this year, with Pharrell racking up $32 million with fashion, The Voice and touring being the his biggest earners.
