Former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton has announced he will be coming out of retirement to return to the ring aged 43.
Hatton announced he’ll be putting on his boxing gloves in Manchester this July for an 8-round exhibition match against Mexico’s Marco Antonio Barrera.
“I can confirm my return to the ring,” Hatton wrote on Twitter.
“Join me for a huge party night – with top music acts – in Manchester on July 2. It’s not how you fall, it’s how you rise.”
Hatton retired from the sport back in 2012 following a knockout defeat to Vyacheslav Senchenko. He finished his career with 45-3, with 32 knockout victories.
Barrera, 48, ended his 75-fight professional career a year earlier in 2011.
