Global superstar Rihanna has made another stride in her takeover outside of music by unveiling her new fashion label, Fenty.

The Fenty brand will fall under the umbrella of the French Luxury goods group Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton which is home to the named brands as well as Fendi, Celine, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Bvlgari to name a few.

On the news, Rihanna said, “Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”

The chairman and CEO of LVMH, Bernard Arnault said, “Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader. She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success”.

The move makes Rihanna the first black woman to lead a house under the brand and the first woman in general to create an original brand for the group.

The news comes after Rihanna recently announced that her globally successful makeup brand, Fenty Beauty, will now be sold in Boots stores across the UK. Rihanna continues to add to her business roster but has kept fans waiting for new music since her last studio album release, Anti, in 2016.

The Bajan artist has teased fans on social media that new music will come soon but with the announcement of this new venture, it is apparent that her brand takeover is keeping her busy.
