Fans have been patiently waiting for Rihanna’s new album, dubbed R9, since 2016. During her recent Fenty live show which took place on Instagram, Rihanna spoke directly to her fans about the new project.
As previously reported by GRM News, Rihanna’s basement party was held to celebrate the release of her Faux Leather Fenty collection with LVMH. Special guests included Lil Uzi Vert and London’s own Octavian who delighted Rihanna with a performance of his track “Papi Chulo” and earned himself several reload requests.
As Rihanna enjoyed the Live, fans, of course, took the opportunity to ask the star about her highly anticipated ninth album.
Rihanna picked up on the comments and said, “If one of y’all motherf**kers ask me about the album one more time when I’m trying to save the world, unlike y’all President…On sight!”
The star was humbly referencing the millions in funding she has raised for healthcare workers who are fighting COVID-19. Rihanna has also donated ventilators and secured funding for several organisations. All of this is on top of her usual philanthropic work through her charity The Clara Lionel and other organisations.
