Following the recent racial abuse during the Euro qualifier between England and Bulgaria, racism has been a big talking point within the footballing world and former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand sat down with BT Sport to discuss the subject.
Last week, some of England’s black football players were racially abused by Bulgarian fans during their 6-0 win and Ferdinand gives his reaction to the shocking scenes, explaining he applauds England for not letting the racism distract them from achieving the win.
As well as speaking on recent incidents, Rio Ferdinand also details the racism he experienced as a football player and gives his views on Jamie Carragher’s recent apology regarding the Evra-Suarez incident.
