The nominees for the 2021 Royal Television Society (RTS) Awards have been revealed and some huge names have been acknowledged!
Nominations were announced in a live stream earlier today which was displayed on the RTS website.
West London’s Big Zuu is nominated twice for his popular cooking programme, Big Zuu’s Big Eats, in the Best Breakthrough and Best Entertainment categories.
Another artist nominated is the OG Big Narstie whose Channel 4 chat show co-hosted by Mo Gilligan, The Big Narstie Show, has received a nomination in the Best Comedy Entertainment category, as well as the Best Entertainment Performance group – where Yung Filly has also been acknowledged for his show Hot Property.
The talented Michaela Coel has received two nominations in the Best Actor (Female) and Best Writer (Drama) categories for her contributions to I May Destroy You. Steve McQueen has also received a nomination in the Best Writer (Drama) group for his powerful series Small Axe, which aired on the BBC earlier this year.
Capital Xtra’s Yinka Bokinni is in the running for Best Presenter for hosting her moving documentary, Damilola: The Boy Next Door – which is up for a separate award in the Best History category too.
Famalam’s Gbemisola Ikumelo has also been acknowledged in the Best Comedy Performance (Female) category, as well as O-T Fagbenle for Maxxx in the Best Comedy (Male Category).
The award winners will be announced on 16 March as part of a live-streamed event.
