UK producer Toddla T and Jamaican artist Runkus have dropped visuals for their collaboration, “Garrison”.
Taken from their joint album OUT:SIDE which dropped back in summer, this track is a powerful one from the pair of creatives that Runkus uses to shed light on life in garrison communities in Jamaica. The visuals assist Runkus in painting a picture of Jamaica as we follow him as he visits a variety of locations.
Speaking on the song, Runkus said: “Living in a country like Jamaica and being exposed to different sides of life, I learnt quickly from a young age that the whole world is a Garrison for we all share collective struggles so in this song I sang a ballad-styled love song to the Garrison whilst warning the youths of the dangers and showing them duality. “A place we love and at the same time, most fear.”
