The start of 2017 saw the uprise of the glorious meme that is “Salt Bae” and now diners in London are in for a real treat after he expressed an interest in opening up a restaurant in the capital.
Chef Nusret Gökçe – or Salt Bae as we are likely to know him as – told Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News, that he was keen to open chains of his Nusr-et grill house in London and New York soon, due to his recent internet fame.
Although he doesn’t speak any English, he said he “could communicate with people through meat.”
The meme-sensation also touched on his seasoning technique saying, “Actually that move at the end [salting] came automatically. I did not do that to show off. It is just my signature. You can think of it as a kind of final touch for a painting. It was a final touch to the meat; I was blessing the meat.”
