Sam Allardyce is set to be appointed the new England manager in the next 24 hours. Following on from England’s dismal Euro 2016 performance – which resulted in Roy Hodgson’s resignation – the search for a new boss has been the focal football story.

Steve Bruce and Eddie Howe were rumoured to have spoken to the Football Association over the vacant position, with Allardyce the bookies favourite to secure the role. Jurgen Klinsmann was also touted, but it seems as if the FA have been keen to bring in another English manager.

With a lack of passion and drive being singled out as the reasons behind England’s failure, Big Sam could be the man to help revamp the system. As the qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia draw closer, it’ll be a good indicator as to what the future may hold for the country. Will we see and English player lift the famous World Cup in 2018? We can live in hope.
