We’ve had some pretty shambolic times as England fans over the last decade or two, but none quite top what’s happened over the past couple of days.

Sam Allardyce has announced his resignation as England manager, making him the shorted lived boss in history. He also, hilariously, leaves with a 100% win record.

The news comes after The Telegraph went undercover and filmed him advising them how to get around certain FA rules and chasing a measly £400,000, comparatively to the £3 million he was being paid as manager.

After losing his “dream” job, Allardyce has told reporters that “entrapment has won”. He called it “a silly thing to do” and leaves as one of the most disgraced managers in England history.

Who will become his replacement in trying to lead England to a successful World Cup qualifying campaign remains to be seen, but frighteningly, Alan Pardew currently stands as the bookies favourite.
