Brixton musician Santino Le Saint has releases his seven-track EP, NO MORE ICONS?.
The project is a statement he put out to question the current musical climate, where the focus can veer more towards instant success over creating music that stands the test of time. Spanning just over 20 minutes, Santino pays homage to some of his icons with a project that has an incredibly intimate feel yet expansive at the same time.
The new era kicked off last month with “Goodbye Paris”, a guitar-driven anti-love song owned by Santino’s mysterious persona which trickles throughout the whole EP. “Damaged Goods” followed, which called on the listener to see the beauty in the broken, whilst lead single “Say What You’re Going To Say” flips the switch with Santino singing about a toxic relationship that’s coming to a blow.
The project has a nostalgic vibe and nods to the golden era of icons and legends through hisconceptual lyricism and non-conforming instrumentation.
