Luca Guadagnino – the man behind Suspiria and Call Me By Your Name – is set to be taking on the role of director for the forthcoming Scarface reboot.

The story has been adapted several times, most notably in the classic 1983 edition starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer with Brian DePalma directing. The new movie is a reimagining of the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films and will be set in Los Angeles, with the script being written by the Coen Brothers who created huge films such as Raising Arizona and Fargo.

The reboot has been in the works since 2011, with Luca Guadagnino’s entry to the project being the latest development in its making.

A Hollywood insider has also made some allegations that Michael B Jordan has been cast to play Tony Montana in the Scarface movie remake and many people have taken to Twitter to discuss the rumours.

While details of its cast are limited, we can expect big things from the reboot now that the Oscar-nominated Guadagnino is behind the movie.
