Shakka is back with a very special acoustic version of DJ Khaled and SZA’s “Just Us”.
The original 2019 version of this song was released as part of DJ Khaled’s Father Of Asahd album and Shakka has brought a new perspective on this track directly to us.
On first listen, what we hear sounds like a brand new offering, as the songs feel has been transformed into a soulful and raw sound. The instrumentation has been scaled back with the use of a single guitar and some clever harmonies are brought into the mix from two backing singers.
Although this set up sounds like it may be limiting, the simplicity of the musicality adds a powerful presence to Shakka’s voice. All of these aspects and the intimate nature of this performance makes for a moving and incredibly captivating listen.
