Sheffield United Received £3 Million Loan From Osama Bin Laden’s Family

16 May 2019

A court has heard that Sheffield United Football Club received a £3 million loan from the relatives of the former Al Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden.

The shocking news was revealed by a High Court Judge who is currently reviewing a battle for control of the club by co-owners Kevin McCabe and Prince Abdullah Mosaad Bin Abdulaaziz Al Saud, a member of the Saudi royal family.

During the hearing, evidence was read which links a loan from Prince Abdullah to the family of Osama Bin Laden.

The club is said to have received a £3 million loan, associated to an investment opportunity within the club, which McCabe says he believed would never have to be paid back.

However, the Sheffield Star newspaper has reported Prince Abdullah’s legal team have said McCabe knew the loan was from the Bin Laden family.

The two co-owners met in 2013 when McCabe was looking to pump more money into the club but relations between the pair broke down in 2017.

The trial will continue over the next few weeks.
