North London’s Shocka has accompanied the release of his new single, “Don’t Be Ashamed”, with a fresh set of visuals.
Teaming up with Sami Switch who delivers a soulful chorus, Shocka creates a heartfelt offering about mental health, speaking candidly about his own experiences with being sectioned. To encourage other people who suffer from mental health problems, Shocka provides us with a personal set of visuals which shed light on what happened when he was recently admitted to hospital.
“At first this song was written to help people that’s been sectioned overcome their shame around the stigma,” Shocka wrote in the description of the video. “But now I’ve realised the songs message is even bigger.
“There’s all sorts of shame people are dealing with and hopefully my vulnerability throughout this video can inspire people to deal with their shame by realising you have nothing to be ashamed about we are all flawed imperfect humans trying to be better.”
