Although the monumental success has felt like a long time coming, we imagine Skepta has to rub his eyes every now and again and check if this is real life.
He’s got another reason to celebrate now, as after his unprecedented Mercury Prize win, his album Konnichiwa has seen an incredible sales boost.
Sine the award win last week, the LP has experienced a 260% rise in sales. It’s risen from 53 to 13 in the charts over the last seven days, with an added 3,296 sales. That brings Konnichiwa‘s total sales to over 84,000 units solds.
Although this tends to always happen with Mercury Prize winners every year, this is still yet another win for Boy Better Know as an independent label.
