After teasing the collaboration last year, Skepta has now given us a glimpse of his forthcoming Nike trainer ‘SK Air 5’.
The legendary artist shared images of the trainer on social media, writing in an Instagram Story: “SK AIR 5 dropping soon.”
Due for release “soon”, the SK Air 5’s are a mix between the original Air Max Tailwind 5 and the Tailwind 5 Plus and will come in a blue, black and purple colourway. However, images which emerged earlier this year suggest the shoe will also arrive in a red and black colourway.
The SK Air 5’s will be Skepta’s fifth trainer collaboration with Nike; following the release of Nike Air Max 97 SK, Nike Air Max 97/BW Sk Air II, Nike Air Max Deluxe SK and the SK Shox TL.
Skepta teased the release of the SK Air 5’s last year, writing in a tweet that the coronavirus pandemic “put a spanner in the works” in terms of the drop date but promised “they’re worth the wait”.
If the popularity of the previous SK Airs are anything to go by, we can expect the upcoming drop to sell out quickly when they do arrive!
