If you haven’t heard of Skiifall yet, it’s time to familiarise yourself. Bursting onto the scene with the “Ting Tun Up” duology, Skiifall has already demonstrated his eclectic influences and unique technical ability.
However, “Bentayga Dust” sees these attributes utilised to the greatest extent yet. Featuring a haunting choir sample, booming 808’s, and menacing synth leads, the production of this track collides perfectly with the bouncy, patois-fuelled vocals of Skiifall, creating what could be a soundtrack to a cold night in Montreal.
Skiifall seems destined for future success, with his completely unique sonical approach and aesthetic placing him within his own unique space within the Canadian scene. Only time will tell if he reaches the heights he deserves, but what is certain is that if “Bentayga Dust” is anything to go by, Skiifall is keen to maintain his own musical essence, whilst also experimenting; a formula which has seen many of our favourite artists explode over the last decade.
