As part of a cost-cutting plan, Sky Sports are set to axe half of their football reporting team according to the Daily Mail.

Mail Sport has reported that six of the 13-person team of football reporters are being cut. Some have chosen to go voluntarily while others are expected to be offered alternative roles.

Among the journalists who will reportedly not continue in their roles are Guy Havord, Dickie Davis, Biana Westwood and more.

Mail Sport also reported that Sky Sports legend Geoff Shreeves, who joined the broadcaster back in 1992, may have to take a significant pay-cut if he chooses to stay at the channel. He is said to be considering his options.

News of the cuts at Sky Sports come after Jeff Stelling confirmed he was leaving their flagship results programme, Soccer Saturday, at the end of the season.

Sky have declined to comment.
