Northampton’s nuisance, the eclectic rapper Slowthai comes through with his debut studio album; the aptly named Nothing Great About Britain.

The unique artist brings this much needed album in a time of political and social upheaval in Britain, and holds up a mirror to the many facets of British society, warts and all.

His style is a blend of grime, hip hop, and even contains elements of punk with a fast and furious rap style, although at other times he has the ability to dial his energy down on softer tracks like his 2018 single “Ladies”, which appears as track number 4 on the album’s second side. Nothing Great About Britain is seventeen tracks long with 11 on the A side and 6 on the B side all of which have been released prior.

The album features Gurnsey’s Mura Masa, Birmingham’s Jaykae, and north London’s Skepta.
