Smoke Dawg shot and killed age 21

Canadian artist and OVO affiliate, Smoke Dawg, has reportedly been shot dead in Toronto on Saturday night (30 June).

According to reports, “multiple shots” were fired outside a nightclub in the Canadian city which left three people “seriously injured”. One of the victims is said to have died from their injuries shortly after the incident.

Police have not confirmed the identity of the deceased but several of Smoke Dawg’s close ones have taken to social media to announce the death of the rapper, including Drake.

“I wish peace would wash over our city.” wrote Drake in an Instagram post, “So much talent and so many stories we never get to see play out. Rest up Smoke.”

Smoke Dawg first caught the attention of the world in 2015 with his big record “Still”. In 2016, the 21-year-old collaborated with Skepta for their banger, “Overseas” and he recently supported Drake on the European leg of his Boy Meets World tour.

His death comes just weeks after XXXTentacion was shot and killed in his hometown of Florida.
