West-Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg has promised that he’ll share the stage with X-Factor‘s Honey G if she reaches the final.
Don’t double take, you read that right.
The Doggystyle MC has gone on record crediting Sharon Osbourne for putting Honey G into the live shows and declared, “I will drop whatever I have on to give them an X Factor exclusive and duet with Honey.”
Honey G is one of the X Factors most controversial contestants, with many publications and personalities slating the “rapper” for not being of the same ilk as previous winners and contestants.
I mean, it’s fair to say she’s not of the same standard as Leona Lewis or even last year’s winner, Louisa Johnson, but she’s definitely got more to her than Wagner or Jedward did. Who could ever forget Jedward?
She’s also drawn criticism for her appropriation of black culture, which some are taking as mocking and even “modern day black face”.
Honey, who’s real name is Anna Gilford, may not have performed the best rendition of Tupac’s “California Love” (yes, you also read that right, she covered a Tupac song and filled it with her own “You say Honey, I say G” adlibs) but she certainly has guts and a positive attitude – and we can all salute that, right?
If you bizarrely can’t get enough of Honey G, check out just how she made it to the X Factor final right here.
