Popular American TV channel FX have renewed Snowfall for Season 5 just three episodes into Season 4 which is being aired over in the States now.
The crime drama created by the late John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron has seen an incredible 41% increase over its previous season, averaging 5.1 million people tuning in across all platforms.
FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier said: “Snowfall has come into its own as one of the best dramas on TV. Its quality and audience growth is a remarkable achievement for a show in its fourth season.
The series takes place in 1980s South Central Los Angeles. In the current season, a crew led by Franklin Saint – played by British actor Damson Idris – are benefitting largely from the rise of crack cocaine, with the demand at an all time high they quickly begin to realise the damage it’s having on everyone and everything around them.
With the Season 4 finale coming up next month, fans now have Season 5 to look forward to!
