The original Space Jam film remains iconic 23 years after its release and for years, fans have patiently waited for news on the highly anticipated sequel.

The wait is almost over and fans should make sure that they are free on the 16th of July 2021 as it has been announced that Space Jam 2 will arrive in cinemas then. The production company behind the sequel, SpringHill Entertainment, took to Twitter to announce the news.

Production for the film was cofounded by LeBron James and he is also set to take over Michael Jordan’s leading role in the original film.

Known for his work on Marvel superhero film Black Panther and with the Creed series, Ryan Coogler will produce the film as Terence Nance directs.

The full plot and cast for Space Jam 2 are yet to be announced.
