Speed’s love affair with football continues to evolve. Having burst onto the Youtube content creator scene in part due to his admiration for Ronaldo, inability to pronounce certain clubs and even off the back of his World Cup tribute song, he appears to be really invested in learning more about the beautiful game.
This resulted in him playing in the infamous Sidemen Charity Match last year for the Youtube All Stars. Standout moments included a plunging two footed tackle on KSI, which he celebrated as if he had scored a goal himself. With more football content coming from the streamer, he featured in this year’s edition recently as well, and somehow managed to put in an even more memorable performance. With at least three failed clear cut chances to score (including a penalty attempt which may go down in history for how bad it was), it almost seemed as if he was trying not to help his team.
It all made for hilarious viewing, but Speed is determined to learn from his performance and who better to analyse his mistakes than Rio Ferdinand? Rio dons his pundit hat, and in spite of the mediocre performance from him, offers world class analysis which seems certain to help him develop his game.
