After announcing the feature a few months ago, Spotify is now publicly testing its ‘Stories’ feature so artists can connect with their fans.

The feature is already available in some users’ apps and has been put in Spotify’s updated Christmas music playlist, showing artists talking about their favourite Christmas memory.

Artists such as Meghan Trainor, Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson can be seen in the new feature.

Other playlists that the feature has been added to include, “Tear Drop” and a version of the Good News album by Megan Thee Stallion.

Spotify stated: “At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience,

“Some of those end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time.”

The addition to the app would come after Twitter’s version of addition of Stories, which are called ‘Fleets’.

Other apps such as Facebook, Skype, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram have since added their own version of the original Snapchat stories.
