According to Forbes Magazine, who assembled the list in concurrence with estate managers and music publishers, ‘MJ’ earned £75million in the past 12 months.
Even though his value is down from £90million in 2014, the figure is double the amount of second placed Elvis Presley and means Jackson has raked in a staggering £1billion since his tragic death on 25th June 2009.
The £1billion earned in the six years since he passed is thought to be the same as he made during his solo career in the 1970’s.
Most of Jackson’s earnings have come from album sales, since he died, his estate have released two albums (‘Michael’ and ‘Xscape’) that continue to sell millions world wide.
Jackson’s name and merchandise right are another mega earner and his Vegas Cirque du Soleil show ‘Michael Jackson One’ draws huge crowds.
Other names on the Forbes list include Bob Marley, Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon.
‘Fast & Furious’ actor Paul Walker, who died in 2013, is a new entry on the list.
