Stormzy Announces Second Year Of ‘The Stormzy Scholarship’ At Cambridge University

15 August 2019

With college students across the UK receiving their A-Level results today (August 15), Stormzy has announced the second year of The Stormzy Scholarship at Cambridge University.

Launched in 2018, The Stormzy Scholarship provides black British students with financial support during their studies.

The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition fees for two undergraduate students at the university, as well as a maintenance grant, for up to four years for any undergraduate course. The scheme is self-funded by Stormzy himself but the “Crown” artist has hopes more investors will jump on board to support the scheme.

Speaking on the Scholarship to Radio 1 Newsbeat last year, Stormzy said: “In school and college I had the ability and was almost destined to go to one of the top universities.

“But that didn’t happen for myself…so hopefully there’s another young black student out there that can have that opportunity through my scholarship.”

Applications for The Stormzy Scholarship are open now and to be eligible for the scheme, applicants must be of black heritage and hold an unconditional offer. The deadline to apply is 1st September 2019.
